Intercultural arts and crafts Advent market

After a three-year break, we were finally able to take part in the iintercultural arts and crafts Advent market on Stephansberg again last weekend. On two eventful days, we fed visitors with Ukrainian specialties, offered a comprehensive cultural program and delighted numerous children with joint handicrafts.

One of the highlights was definitely the performance by Sofia Leshyshak and Elizabeth Ushakova, who had traveled all the way from Lviv and touched the audience with an energetic and emotional performance of Ukrainian works. The day before, a choir of Ukrainian pupils from the E.T.A. Hoffmann Gymnasium performed Ukrainian Christmas carols. Many thanks to all our artists for your wonderful performances!

Our cultural offer was rounded off by the Ukrainian artists Anastasiya Vyt, Sofia Stetsko, Yeva Ruzhytska and Iryna Koval, who offered their handicrafts for sale and donated part of the proceeds to our association – thank you very much!

We would like to thank all visitors who supported us this year with donations and the purchase of delicacies and handicrafts.

A big thank you also goes to the organizers of the St. Stephan parish, Pastor Walter Neunhoeffer and Martin Rohr, for the flawless organization that made such a great event possible in the first place. We would also like to thank the Fuchs family bakery, which provided us with delicious bread for several of our dishes this year, as well as the Ukrainian Greek Catholic parish of St. Nicholas around Father Ivan Sokhan, which provided us with crockery, premises and large appliances.

Many thanks to all our cooks and especially Marijka Ehrlein, who prepared more than 3000 varenyky, 50 liters of borscht and 15 cakes. Last but not least, a big thank you to all the helpers who tirelessly organized, set up, dismantled, prepared and sold.

We are already looking forward to next year and wish you all a Merry Christmas!
