Saturday School in Bamberg
We created a cultural space for the children of Ukrainian migrants and refugees where we could teach them the Ukrainian language, literature, history, and have a good time together.

The Saturday school was created in cooperation with the Greek-Catholic parish of the city of Bamberg for the children of migrants who moved to Germany. From May 2022, the focus shifted to children who were forced to flee the war.
The school started its work in November 2018. Classes were held almost every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. or from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The exception was Saturdays, when all the children went on vacation with their parents. From January to May 2022, there was a pause as we needed to redirect our attention to urgent war-related tasks.
Each Saturday, two-hour meetings were held for different age groups. Children were able to communicate with their peers and make new friends. In addition to studying the Ukrainian language, literature and history, traditional holidays and short trips were arranged for the children.
