Chainreaction: The ambulances reach their destination after 1400 kilometres

After a week in the saddle – often accompanied by rain and strong headwinds – the cyclists of the ‘Chainreaction Bikeconvoy for Ukraine’ have reached Lviv today. They were accompanied by 14 ambulances, which were driven by Ukrainian paramedics on the last stage of the 1,400 kilometre route.

In a festive ceremony, Chainreaction and Bamberg:UA handed over the vehicles to the Samooborona (‘Self-Defence of Lviv Citizens’) initiative. Samooborona was founded during the Revolution of Dignity in 2014, when Lviv activists supported the demonstrators on the Maidan in Kyiv with helmets and protective waistcoats, among other things. Samooborona is a long-standing partner organisation of Bamberg:UA when it comes to donating used ambulances.

Since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion, Samooborona has been actively engaged with both the Ukrainian armed forces and civil defence. The aid ranges from donations of ammunition, medicines, and firefighting equipment to laptops for schools and power generators, and now, once again, includes ambulances from Germany.

A huge thank you goes from Bamberg:UA to all supporters, partners and donors who made the #ChainReactionBikeConvoy2025 possible.

Last but not least: We – the Bamberg:UA team – would like to thank our friends from @chainreaction.bikeconvoy from the bottom of our hearts for initiating this life-saving project. You guys are the best! 💛

    Two Fire Trucks for Ukraine

Every night, Ukrainian cities and villages come under attack from Russian drones and rockets. Homes, schools, and hospitals become military targets, and firefighters work tirelessly to deal with the destruction, saving as many lives as possible. This work is already dangerous – under war conditions, however, it becomes life-threatening, as destroyed sites are often attacked…
